Love Not The World - Humanity Versus Carnality.

The question often repeatedly asked comparing John 3 : 16 with 1 John 2 : 15 - 16 is born out of God's intention for us to reflect on the love (genuine love, godly love, the agape type of love) for humanity and genuine hatred for carnality. The tent here is "Humanity 🆚 Carnality." It may have come on a platter of a classroom test on occasions. God's intention is always pure, just and right.

In 1 John 2 : 15 - 16.
Love not the world, neither the things
that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1. The world here is not the material universe which is a creation of God, and it vividly illustrates some of his infinite perfections. "The heavens declare the glory of God," etc. (Psalm 19:1-6 ). The light is the garment in which he robes himself (Psalm 104:2 ). The fertility of the earth is an illustration of his bounty and beneficence. These are all awesomely beautiful pointer to God's works - the material world. "O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches." We read, "The Lord shall rejoice in his works."
There is in nature endless significance for our instruction, much that is vast and sublime to awe us, much that is beautiful to delight us, much that is bountiful to supply our needs, and much to lead our thoughts to God. There is a sense in which we may love this beautiful creation, and with all the more of warmth because our Father made it and sustains it!
2. The world is not the world of men as such, or mankind. It is not the world of John 3:16 , "God so loved the world," etc. With the love of benevolence and pity God loved the world of sinful men - not because of their sins, but that despite of ignorance in their sin, the creature of God may not perish, but have life through obedience in Christ Jesus.
Here we should be focusing on humanity Without this love, despite our carnality, sinful disobedience, there wouldn't be reconciliation unto an awesome God.
3. The world here is the world of sinners as distinguished from those that are true Christians.
The world here in its sinful condition is variously represented. It is in darkness; it knows not God; it finds his commandments grievous; it lies in wickedness; it is in death. The ''things'' of it are such as these - 'the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.'...
That is the world we (concerned Christians) should not love. Understand this, the inordinate desire for sensual indulgences, the longing for the gratification of the carnal appetites. It is most terrible in its effects upon the soul.
If you mistake the world for the Material universe, don't mistake it for the Moral standards and systems of men thereof.
