Constituents Troop Out, Demand Recall Of Dino Melaye.

A large crowd of hundreds of constituents from Kogi West took to the streets on Friday on a protest marched to INEC’s headquarters

in Lokoja demanding that the Senator representing them, Senator Dino Melaye be recalled from the National Assembly.

They were carrying placards and banners with different inscriptions and singing songs unfriendly to the Senator. They claimed to be too wary of the embarrassment their representative, Dino Melaye was causing them. They also claimed that there are no visible evidence of his performance in the senatorial district.

Mr Pius Kolawole, who addressed journalists, said they are constituents from across the seven Local Government Areas - (Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopamuro, Ihany, Kabba/Bunu, Koton-karfe and Lokoja) that make up Kogi West Senatorial district.

He spoke further that having studied a list of 18 offenses levied against their Senator, "all the seven local government areas, comprising Kogi West senatorial zone are united in their resolve to recall and remove the Senator because of the embarrassment he has brought for all of us,” Mr Pius Kolawole said.

The listed included offences like - non-execution of projects for the constituency, lack of constituency office in the district, alleged certificate scandal, alleged vituperations against personalities, notably, the Sultan of Sokoto, President Muhammadu Buhari, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Painting the state in bad light through his conducts, and lack of respect for his party.

There after, Mr Pius Kolawole asked INEC officials for recall forms.
